One hot NBA trade rumor last week had the Timberwolves shipping guard Ricky Rubio off to Chicago for Jimmy Butler. As it turned out, Minnesota sent Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and NBA 2K MT exchanged first-round draft picks in exchange for the Bulls' All-Star forward. But Rubio is still apparently on the market.

MMOgo's Marc Stein reports sources say the T-Wolves "remain intent on trading Ricky Rubio as it searches for more shooting."For a player coming off career highs in scoring (11.1 points per game) and assists (9.1 apg), Rubio can't seem to shake the trade rumors. Another recent rumor had him headed to the Knicks, for Derrick Rose. Although Rubio is one of the game's best passers and a competent defender, he's struggled with his shot at times.

Before Thursday's NBA Draft, the Cavaliers reportedly engaged in talks with the Pacers and Nuggets on a possible three-team trade which would have sent Paul George to the Cavs and Kevin Love to the Nuggets. While the trade fell through, for now, the Nuggets remain interested in adding a power forward alongside star center Nikola Jokic. According to, in addition to Love, the Nuggets also covet unrestricted free agent forwards Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap, who each recently opted out of their deals.

After a poor draft and missing out on a possible trade involving the Suns' Eric Bledsoe, the Nuggets need to make a splash in free agency to keep pace with the Western Conference powers. Griffin is coming off of a season in which he averaged 21.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, but he was knocked out of the playoffs with an injury and the Clippers were once again eliminated in the first round. Still, Griffin can earn up to a five-year, $175 million deal with the Clippers next season, or he could land a four-year, $130 million offer with another team.

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook capped off 2K MT his historic individual season by winning the greatest individual award in the sport: Most Valuable Player. He set the single-season triple-double record with 42 triple-doubles, while averaging 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game.
